Job Goal

Provides general office support for faculty of aviation and provides administrative support for the Dean of Workforce Development and Career and Technical Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are not exhaustive but illustrate the general duties required of the position. Management may require personnel to perform duties other than those contained in this document.

  1. Maintains a thorough understanding of the policies and procedures of Pasco-Hernando State College and knowledge of the aviation program.
  2. Inputs budget requisitions and instructional data in College systems as assigned for the aviation program.
  3. Prepares routine correspondence, forms, and other documents relevant to the aviation program for the Dean of Workforce Development and Career and Technical Education.
  4. Provides support materials for instructors, including but not limited to: tests, syllabi, handouts, etc. and assists with all other activities as may be necessary to support faculty functions.
  5. Maintains required files for course sections, instructor information, and other documents for the aviation program.
  6. Types, answers the telephone, operates office equipment, performs other office functions as assigned, processes, and properly files all faculty memoranda, course outlines (syllabi, course objectives and student learning outcomes), notes, and related materials for full-time and part-time faculty of the aviation program.
  7. Orders and maintains all textbooks and supplemental materials for the aviation faculty.
  8. Responsible for the security of letters, evaluations and other faculty materials.
  9. Assists with the scheduling of rooms as requested.
  10. Completes and submits activities form requests for planned activities of the aviation program.
  11. Assists in preparing the aviation program material for submission to the Council of Academic Affairs.
  12. Serves as a member of assigned committees.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to perform general office work with special emphasis on filing and typing accurately
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of computer application software including Microsoft operating systems and the use of email
  • Experience using Microsoft products with emphasis on Word and Excel

Additional Required Skills:

  • Keyboarding: 35 net words per minute (NWPM) with 95% accuracy
  • Data Entry 3 -- Invoice: 5,200 keystrokes per hour (KPH) with 95% accuracy
  • Proofreading 1: 70% accuracy
